This is an unnamed lancome quad of eye shadows, however it does give all 4 shade names: optic, exhibition, spectra, contrast. Exhibition I believe is the pink-ish, red-ish, color that ends up looking more like skin tone when applied. It makes a great blending color or high light. It looks like the other 3 colors are the same as in the 4passion quad and the dark purple once again falls short of the hopes I had. It looks like it should have blue/purple shift glitter in it, but the color pay off of the dark purple doesn’t allow it to show through like it is in the compact.
Lancome eye shadow quad in 4 passion, a lovely mix of purples. I love the bottom left purple which reminds me of a wine color almost, but the dark purple in the top right doesn’t have enough pigment. It falls short of the color I hoped it would deliver.
Fira eye shadow quartet in First Date. It’s supposed to be the colors for a smokey eye, but it does a horrible job. The glitter is too chunky and rough, the colors are powdery, chalky, and not pigmented. Don’t even think about blending….stop it, I know you just thought about it, trust me when I say you will regret it. As soon as you lightly try to blend, poof, the color that was there disappears. This is not a bargain at any price, even free.
Cover girl aqua paradise, I love this color, it reminds me of the ocean. It is a blue, a hint of green, and a touch of shimmer and gold. It makes a great eye liner when used with a small angled brush or an all over wash of color. You can pair it with silver or gold to do a colorful smokey eye.
Blistex, a roller-ball liquid chapstick that you most certainly can’t wear before bed, has a not so great taste and smell, has a bad consistency, the roller ball doesn’t coat chapped lips well, and it doesn’t actually help my chapped lips. I’m so sorry I bought this :/
Almay intense i color trio for greens. I feel like separately the colors are ok, nothing special. Together, I don’t like them at all. The purple is too dark, the light green too frosty to be used as a highlighter, and the bold green is wayyyyyy too much for a crease color. I would want washes of color, not these bold colors that didn’t seem to blend well and faded during the day. It’s the best and worst of problems in one.
This is a swatch of the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Intense wear lipstick in the shade #42 Just So. It is a lovely creamy pink. It reminds me of a bubblegum color but a little bit deeper. I like the color, I get kind of iffy when wearing pink, because I just do not like the way some pinks look on me…I don’t know if it is because of my skin tone or what, but I have to be careful when using certain shades of pink or the do not look right. This I found to be pretty nice on me. I also like the formula it feels nice on the lips. At frist I thught it had an interesting taste - not bad, but just no expected. However as I have used this and other lipsticks in this line I have found I do not sense the taste anymore - it could just be Im used to it!
L’oreal hip cosmetics came out with a clear eye shadow base that is probably ties with another of their products, Decrease, for worst eye shadow primer on the market. The texture is thick and the word “gunk” comes to mind. The bottle doesn’t contain much and it creases almost instantly when I put shadow on and it doesn’t allow blending. It’s like a cream eye shadow that masquerades as a primer only to be one giant let down. The only plus is that it goes on clear. Stay away, far far away.
another NYC lip gloss in clear. Just like my other reviews, I really don’t like the NYC lip gloss line, I don’t like the smell, the tackyness, the consistency, how quickly it wears off, and how the outside of the packaging is always sticky no matter how tightly I close the lid
I dont have any swatches to add to this post, but I also wanted to mention how unhappy I was with the yuckyness of the gloss coming out of the edges of the cap even when it is tightly screwed on. No matter how tightly I close the lid, as Laura says, gloss manages to get on the sides of the tube and it is so gross to touch and really inconvenient to store, especially in purses, which usually have a cloth lining!’
So I bought this NYC lip gloss in sungold pink because it was inexpensive and I loved the golden pink shimmery hue, perfect for spring and summer. I hate, however, the tacky ness, the stickyness always lingering on the outside of it it, the smell of the gloss, and the consistency that doesn’t stay on my lips for long. NYC, I’m not impressed with your lip glosses in this line.
